About Our Owner

Tim, an Alabama native, moved back “home” to Birmingham and opened “Parkside Home and Garden” in 2000 at what is now “Parkside on Fifth”. Time renovated and opened the bar/restaurant in 2022 after having leased the property out for 10 years. Tim is an interior designer and event planner that has had locations in Mobile, Savannah, and Vestavia Hills. People have loved shopping in his stores for years to find unique and special items for their homes. Tim is a founding member of the Avondale/Forest Park Architectural Review Board and has used his passion for old homes to renovate dozens of homes in the area. His background in design and events, and his love of all people make Parkside on Fifth the perfect place to grab a cocktail or host an event.

About Our Building

Built in 1895 as Avondale Marble Works, this historic treasure overlooks Avondale Park. Complete with its own garden and massive outdoor courtyard with Koi pond and fire pit. In addition to the main building, which houses an upscale loft upstairs, the rear courtyard boasts a private bar in the converted garage, available to reserve, along with an Airstream where all of the delicious food is prepared.
